A few months back I came across a podcast featuring David Goggins who is an ex-navy seal. He spoke about going from “motivated” to “driven”. He said motivation is something that comes and goes and is temporary but what you want to be in life is “driven” as that is what separates you from the rest.

So, what does it take to go from motivated to driven? What does it take to succeed where so many others quit?

Honestly, I think it is all to do with mindset. You need to re-wire your brain to realize that it is going to be hard and uncomfortable but coming out on the other side is what’s going to give you the HIGH you’re after.

Humans are accustomed to taking the easy way out, feeling one tiny bit of pain in a workout and giving up. That’s what we are ALL wired to do. We as humans feel pain and want to back off.

But what if you could keep going? What if you got yourself out of bed even though it was raining and went for that workout? What if you kept going and became stronger and stronger? What if you started to feel your energy come back? What if by doing what you don’t really want to do, makes your will power stronger, therefore transcending into every other area of your life? What if you could take that warrior mindset and apply it to your relationships, career and whole life? What if you started to win in every area of your life? What if life started changing for the better once you got out of your comfort zone? What if you looked in the mirror and was so genuinely happy with how you looked – that all of it was worth it?

These are the types of questions you need to ask yourself when your about to throw in the towel, when your about to skip a meal, have that unhealthy snack, miss a workout. These are the types of questions you need to remember when your presented with a choice of being BETTER than what you were yesterday or slipping back into your comfort zone. Absolutely NOTHING good in life comes from being in your comfort zone. NOTHING! It’s the 4-lane highway in life that everyone wants to take. But when you roll your sleeves UP and take the hard road it brings such a better, more fulfilling outcome.

It’s not just about looking good, losing weight and that scale number. The drive needs to come from the inside. Once you tap into that, that is when the true change comes. Can you image how proud of yourself you would be if you had a goal of working out 4 x a week for 6 weeks? And if you stuck to it? Or if you had a healthy diet that you stuck to for 6 short weeks out of your whole life? The feeling of accomplishment at the end of that 6 weeks will be like no other feeling you have had before, and you will get addicted to it.

It will spark something inside I personally GUARANTEE it! What else can you do? How else can you become that strong warrior you were born to be in this life time? Once you achieve something you increase your self confidence and it’s all positive energy so you then start asking yourself what else am I capable of? What else can I now do? Why have I for so long been holding myself back?

We all have those moments where we want to give up, take the easy road, have the bad meal, skip the workout. But it is in these moments where you have the power to truly change your whole life. Not just your body, but every single little thing in your life. As soon as you start taking life by the horns, as soon as you take your power back and choose to get up and do the workout or fill your body with nourishing foods – that is when you start projecting that out to everyone and it will be mirrored back to you. Every aspect of your life will start getting better. Looking great is just the cherry on top.

How bad to do want it? Do you want to sit comfortably in your life in your safe spot called the “comfort zone”? It is OK if you do, no judgements here. But if there is a silent voice inside that is telling you there has got to be more to this life then step up and start taking your power back. By doing what is uncomfortable, putting yourself out of your comfort zone, not missing a work out or meal – don’t let yourself down! You deserve to look and feel your best. You deserve to have everything you want in this life.

So next time you want to quit, remember the warrior you are. Remember that this isn’t just about looking good. This is your way of life. This is your perspective on everything. Start living like this and watch your whole life transform. Your workouts will get better, you will crave more healthy food, your relationships will be the best they ever have been, everything will start working in your favour – because you have chosen to step it up. You chose not to give in. You chose to give this life all you got.
