We ALL know the feeling when we are craving sugary foods and before you know it we have blacked out and consumed a whole block of chocolate and completely spilled over our calories for the day. Sound familiar? It doesn’t have to be this way.
I have carefully written out my top FIVE (5) macro and calorie friendly “healthy” desserts that you can eat completely guilt free. These recipes are designed to be less in calories than the other well known sugary desserts yet still unbelievably tasty and delicious to ensure you can enjoy some healthy “treats” yet still stay on track with your goals. How good does this sound?

Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Cookies
Preparation Time: 15 mins
- 1 1/4 cups Gold Medal all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup Truvía® Baking Blend
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon Truvía® Baking Blend
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon coarse sea salt
Method:
1. Heat oven to 325°F.
2. In medium bowl, mix flour, cocoa and baking soda; set aside.
3. In large bowl, beat butter, 1/2 cup Truvía® Baking Blend, vanilla and egg with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon. Stir in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons on ungreased cookie sheet. Press down slightly.
4. Bake 13 to 15 minutes or just until set. Cool 1 to 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 15 minutes.
5. Meanwhile, in small bowl, beat 1 tablespoon Truvía® Baking Blend and water. Brush over cookies (discard any remaining water mixture); sprinkle with salt.
6. Serve and enjoy!

Chocolate Protein Balls
Preparation Time: 15 mins
- 30g chocolate UPS flavoured protein powder
- 30g quick oats⠀
- 30g almond meal⠀
- 15g shredded coconut + extra for coating⠀
- 1 tsp Natvia
- 1 tbs sugar free maple syrup⠀
- ½ tbs coconut oil (melted)⠀
- 1tsp vanilla extract⠀
Method
- Add protein, oats, almond meal, shredded coconut and Natvia in a mixing bowl and stir to combine.
- Add syrup, coconut oil and vanilla extract and stir together to form a dough-like consistency. If it’s too dry, add a splash of water. If it’s too wet, add some more dry ingredients.
- Using your hands, roll into bite sized balls, then roll through extract shredded Coconut to coat.
- Leave to set in the fridge for an hour and they’re ready to enjoy!⠀

USS Protein Bar Dipped Banana Bites
Preparation Time: 5 mins
Cooking Time:5 mins
Ingredients:
- 2 small bananas, peeled and cut into 1-inch chunks
- 1 protein UPS bar
Method:
- Cut UPS protein bar up into small pieces and place in a heavy-duty zip-top plastic bag or small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at HIGH for 1 – 2 minutes or until quest bar melts.
- Cut 2 bananas up into small 1 – inch chunks as shown in the picture.
- Dip banana pieces in melted UPS protein bar.
- Enjoy!

Chocolate Protein Mousse
Ingredients:
- 375mls evaporated milk
- 375mls cold water
- 150g UPS protein powder
- 4 small spoons of splenda sweetener
- 2 small spoons of cocoa powder
- 4 egg whites
- 2 sachets of plain gelatin dissolved in 100 ml of boiling water
Method:
- Pour the milk into a large bowl and also add the cold water.
- Start beating and whisking and at the same time add the sweetener, protein powder and the cocoa.
- Keep whisking until nice and thick.
- In a separate bowl whisk the egg whites until even.
- Add dissolved gelatin to the milk mixture and continue to whisk.
- Now add the egg whites and keep stirring until even.
- Pour into air tight containers and refrigerate.
- Serve and enjoy!

Chocolate Protein Fudge
Preparation Time: 10 min
Cooking Time: 2 hours
Ingredients:
- 100g Almond spread
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 2 tbls coconut oil
- 1 banana
- 3 tsp of cocoa powder
- 2 scoops of chocolate UPS whey protein powder
- Handful of goji berries
Method:
- Mix almond spread, coconut oil and banana together with a spoon
- Now add Chia seeds.
- Then mix in rest of ingredients and press into a lined tray with baking paper and place in freezer for 1-2 hours to set!
- Serve and enjoy!
