Are you feeling sore from one of your SQ FITNESS workouts? Don’t worry you’re not alone. I at times even curse myself sometimes about how hard my own workouts lol. Remember guys in order to change our body we must challenge yourself.
Now recovering from these workouts is so important to our progress. If you’re struggling to recover give my TOP five (5) tips a try below:
- STRETCH, STRETCH, STRETCH. This is a massive one. Stretching is the absolute key to recovery and helping those sore muscles recover. Dedicate 15 – 20 minutes each night while you’re watching TV to stretch and you can thank me later for it as man does it help.
- My next tip to help with recovery is to drink plenty of water and keep fuelling your body with the right foods from your plan. This is HUGE. If you’re choosing to eat junk and not drinking enough water, then the recovery process will be so much harder. Flood your body with 2-3 litres of water a day, nourish your body with awesome, nutritious, whole foods and watch how much this will help alone.
- My next tip is around MAGNESIUM. Yes, if you are really sore from your SQF workouts then I highly suggest going to pick up some magnesium tablets from the chemist as these will definitely help reduce some soreness. Get on it guys J
- My next tip and you might think I am a little crazy but honestly it is to keep moving the sore muscles again and keep exercising. This will increase the blood flow and assist with the soreness. Our bodies are designed to move so if you are sore don’t sit around and do nothing, get UP, get ACTIVE and move the body to help assist with your blood flow and recovery.
- My last tip is a little left field (well at least for those who know me anyway) but I want to recommend YOGA. Yep I have turned to the dark side lol. Lately I have been trying out some Yoga classes and I can honestly say they have been helping me with my epic weights sessions. I have been stretching out, feeling “zen” and to be honest just balancing my body out. I feel great as a result. My workouts are intense so doing yoga where I can focus solely on stretching my body, moving my body and getting fully in control of my breathing allows me to recover better form my weights sessions and then as a result push harder the next day. I highly suggest trying it out.
I hope this helps and it assists you all in firstly understanding the importance of recovery and then secondly how to actually recover properly for your workouts.
Remember to change your body you need to first push yourself and get out of your comfort zone and then recover for the next workout.
