Give my top FIVE (5) tips a read below on what to do if you over ate or are prone to binge eating..
1) First of all don’t panic. So many times I see people when they over eat start panicking and worrying themselves far too much. If you ate too much food or you went off your plan it doesn’t make you a bad person it makes you HUMAN. Worrying and stressing about it isn’t going to do anything. Don’t beat yourself up, stay positive and solution focused and ready to get back on track.
2) This leads me to my next tip… If you did binge eat or eat too much food you must let it go and get straight back onto the plan of eating healthy again. Put it behind you, hit the reset button and get tracking with your food again to ensure you’re back moving in the right direction again. Don’t let a bad meal or bad day of eating turn into a bad week then let it turn into a bad month and then the wheels fall off all together. Put it behind you and get straight back on board with a positive mind set.
3) My next tip is to start burning some calories. Now, let me be clear here you don’t need to be a crazy person on the treadmill and start killing yourself with hardcore 2 hour sprints. That’s not smart. Simply get back into your routine and start working out again. Not only will this help you burn calories to then help you lose some of the water weight you may have gained but it will also do wonders for the mind.
4) My next tip is to DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. This is a big one. If you over ate you are no doubt feeling sluggish and full so by flushing your body with good old H20 this can really help the process. You always win when you drink lots of water.
5) My last tip is to understand how important it is NOT fuss and stress over that number on the scales. So many times I hear from people who have over ate and gone and weighed themselves to then only go into absolute panic mode. Our weight can fluctuate DAILY where we weigh more at night then what we do in the morning. After binge eating the food can also add a lot of water which means the new number on the scale will at times mostly be from water weight gained which can easily be burnt off. If you’re one of those people who are weighing themselves 2,3 or even 4 times a day, then stop. The number on the scales does NOT define you as a person J
