My Top Ten (10) Tips On How To Get Lean!
  1. MUST be in a negative energy balance AKA calorie deficit AKA burning more calories than what you’re consuming. This can be done by increasing your output or decreasing your input OR a combination of BOTH.
  2. Stick to heavy weights sessions as your priority and use drop sets, tri sets, giant sets, super sets etc to help increase your energy expenditure to ensure you’re in a deficit each week.
  3. Use a combination of BOTH high rep and low rep sets in your weight sessions so you’re getting the best of both worlds.
  4. Track your performances especially in your main compound lifts and your goal no matter what is to be getting stronger in them each week.
  5. Don’t introduce cardio at the start. Have it as an ace card up your sleeve for down the track in case you need it to help with TIP #1.
  6. Understand the importance of meal timing. Plan to have most of your carbs around your training time purely to help increase the performances in your workouts which will then ultimately help you increase your lean muscle mass.
  7. Understand the notion that NO specific “magic foods” get you lean. Instead, focus your time on understanding your daily macro nutrient requirements in order to put you in a negative energy balance.
  8. Don’t deprive or restrict yourself from the foods you like as this ISN’T how you get lean, or is it smart or sustainable. If you want a certain food that you’re craving then factor it into your daily MACROS.
  9. Learn the importance of REST. Running your body in a deficit is both taxing on the body and the mind. Get your rest when you can to make sure your as fresh as you can be for your heavy workout sessions.
  10. Learn to enjoy the process as that right there is how we stay MOTIVATED which leads to CONSISTENCY which then leads to overall RESULTS!
