If you have been following me on social media lately (Username: SQ_FITNESS) you will have noticed that I have been doing a lot of different types of training lately.

I have just recently taken up swimming these past few weeks and I have been loving it. I have also been getting some boxing lessons and using that as my go to cardio.

I think in this game it is extremely vital and important to mix things up., I can’t stress in words how much I have been enjoying this. The swimming loosens me up. I feel extra mobile because of it. The benefits of swimming are endless, and it opens up my joints and makes me feel limber. All I do is put 45 minutes on the clock and aim to swim as many constant laps in that time that I can. A great cardio workout!

The boxing has been great too. I’ve been doing 1-hour sessions focusing on technique, strength and power. I feel stronger because of it and it is also so good for the mind as it is genuinely a fun activity to do.

Before that I was doing yoga. I took up a yoga challenge for a month and was completing 2-3 sessions a week of Yoga. I’ve also been using the spin bike a lot too.

Don’t worry I’ve still been getting my normal weights sessions in each week as I’m not about to lose all my years of hard work in this area. I’ve still been overloading my body and continually aiming to get bigger, stronger and leaner from these normal weights sessions but right now in my life I am all about longevity in this game. I am all about mixing up my training as it is making me feel more functional and mobile. It’s helping my joints and ensuring I can stay in this game forever.

I highly suggest you guys mix your training up too. Don’t stay one dimensional and don’t let your body be able to predict what you’re going to do. The only way to keep progressing and to keep moving forward both in fitness and in life is to keep trying new things and keep growing as an individual.

As I said last night in my social media post my goal is to be an all-round athlete and I want to embody all things health and fitness and mixing things up is making me feel great.
